A Riders Clean Up Phuket With Pedal Power PHUKET: The A Riders, a group of eco-warriors on wheels, launched a community beach clean up and litter education campaign at Sapan Hin on Friday (27th June).

 

The A Riders, from Phuket-based residential property developer The Attitude Club, put on the local event as part of an annual 'International Coastal Cleanup drive.

 Phuket Town Mayor Ms Somjai Suwansupapana welcomed the clean up initiative by The A Riders, who also donated four rubbish separation bins to encourage the public sort and recycle trash.

 After collecting rubbish along the beach at Sapan Hin, the Attitude Club team educated the public about various types of trash and how long they can pollute the natural environment if not properly discarded.

 The Attitude Club director and A Team leader, Mr Wirachai Pranveerapaiboon, said the aim of the event was to promote beach clean ups and recycling as fun, social activities that benefit everyone and the environment.

 “As a local developer of residential properties, we have a responsibility to preserve the island's natural beauty for future generations of locals and residents, so we have always focused on minimizing human impact on the environment,” said Mr Wirachai.

 “By generating awareness of the problem and providing recycling facilities we hope this will make it enjoyable and easy for everyone to join in keeping Phuket clean,” he said. 

บริษัท ดิ แอทติจูด คลับ จำกัด เป็นบริษัทของคนท้องถิ่น มีความมุ่งหวังที่จะทำโครงการเพื่อตอบแทนสู่แหล่งชุมชน จึงเป็นที่มาของกิจกรรม “เก็บขยะชายหาด” ภายใต้คอนเซ็ปต์ A rider “ยอดมนุษย์สองล้อเก็บขยะพิทักษ์โลก” โดยวัตถุประสงค์ ของการเก็บขยะในครั้งนี้ไม่ได้มุ่งหวังเพื่อให้ชายหาดหรือชายฝั่งสะอาดเพียงอย่างเดียว แต่ยังให้ผู้เข้าร่วมโครงการได้เรียนรู้และตระหนักถึงขยะต่างๆที่ทิ้งลงไปนั้นต้องใช้เวลาย่อยสลายนานแค่ไหนจึงจะหมดไป เพราะเมื่อเก็บขยะแล้วจะทำการบันทึกข้อมูล และส่งต่อให้กับองค์กรอนุรักษ์มหาสมุทร (International Coastal Cleanup) นำไปใช้จัดทำรายงานประจำปี ซึ่งจะช่วยสะท้อนภาพรวมของปัญหาขยะทะเลทั้งในระดับประเทศและในระดับโลก

นอกจากนี้บริษัท ดิ แอทติจูด คลับ จำกัด นำโดยนายวีระชัย ปรานวีระไพบูลย์ ประธานกรรมการบริหารบริษัท ขอส่งมอบถังขยะจำนวน 4 ถัง ที่จัดทำขึ้นเพื่อแยกขยะก่อนทิ้งให้กับเทศบาลนครภูเก็ต โดยนางสาวสมใจ สุวรรณศุภพนา นายกเทศมนตรีเทศบาลนครภูเก็ตให้เกียรติเป็นผู้รับมอบ เพื่อร่วมเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในการรักษาความสะอาดให้กับแหล่งชุมชน อีกทั้งเป็นการรณรงค์ส่งเสริมให้ประชาชนแยกขยะก่อนทิ้งลงถัง เพื่อเป็นการรักษาสิ่งแวดล้อม และคงความสะอาดสวยงามให้กับปลายแหลมสะพานหิน ซึ่งเป็นที่พักผ่อนหย่อนใจของชาวจังหวัดภูเก็ตตลอดไป

บริษัท ดิ แอทติจูด คลับ จำกัด หวังว่ากิจกรรมนี้จะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อชุมชนและสังคมในการมีส่วนร่วม และสร้างจิตสำนึกให้กับคนในท้องถ่ิน นักเรียน นักศึกษา นักท่องเที่ยว และผู้ประกอบการในพื้นที่ให้รักษาความสะอาด และอนุรักษ์ทรัพยากรทางทะเลและชายฝั่ง เพื่อส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวของจังหวัดภูเก็ตแบบยั่งยืนต่อไป
